Our staff is comprised of a competent and compassionate team of health care providers and otolaryngologists whose primary goal is to provide you with the best possible care for diseases of the ear, nose, and throat. Our physicians not only offer outstanding ear, nose, and throat care, but they also have an excellent bedside manner that allows you to feel reassured that you are receiving quality care.

Mark A. Williams,
M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Williams is a native of Cincinnati, OH where he attended the University of Cincinnati. In 2002, he graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine’s Physician Scientist Training Program. There he obtained his medical doctor (M.D.) as well as his doctorate of philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology & Cell Biophysics.

To obtain his Ph.D., Dr. Williams studied the regulation of neutrophil-mediated inflammation. During his tenure as a graduate student, he competed for and successfully received one of 10 fellowships from the Association for Academic Minority Physicians and one of 28 fellowships from the famed Howard Hughes Medical Institute. The quality of his research has won for him several national and local awards.

Dr. Williams completed his residency training in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine before relocating to Nashville, TN. There he founded the Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists of Nashville. For a brief period of time, Dr. Williams served as the Division Chief for Otolaryngology in the Department of Surgery at Meharry Medical College. For eleven years, he served as an Adjunct Associate Professor for the college.

In addition to being an excellent and compassionate surgeon, Dr. Williams is an avid singer and songwriter. He has recorded two nationally released and award-winning CD projects that consist of all original songs: “Everything” and “When A Man Worships”.  His passion for singing compelled him to found the Voice Care Center of Nashville where he provides outstanding medical and surgical care for performance and professional voice users, or anyone who is having voice problems.

Dr. Williams is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife, Darice, have three children: Demarcus (1993), Aaron (1997) and Courtney (2006). They believe strongly in service to God and to community.

Shavonne Morgan,
FNP-BC

Shavonne Morgan is a native of middle Tennessee and a graduate of both Tennessee State University and Belmont University. She is an ANCC board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with experience in Urgent Care, Primary Care, Long Term Care and Hospice.  Prior to becoming an FNP, Shavonne practiced in the Neurological Intensive Care Setting at Vanderbilt University, Duke University and the University of Chapel Hill.  She was also employed as a clinical nurse educator for Philips Healthcare.  When she is not working, Shavonne enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, traveling and volunteering in various community activities with her church. 

Nicole (Nikky) Wissing,
PA-C

Nikky is originally from Rockford, IL. She attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology/Pre-Medicine. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences in North Chicago, IL. Nikky has over 17 years experience as a physician assistant specializing in otolaryngology, allergy, facial plastics/aesthetics. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants and The Society for Physician Assistants in Otolaryngology. Prior to joining ENTSON, Nikky has been with ENT/Aesthetic practices in Lone Tree, CO and Murfreesboro, TN.  Nikky enjoys building relationships with her patients through communication, listening and joint decision making.

In her free tree time, Nikky enjoys spending time with her husband and two active sons. She enjoys traveling, reading, gardening and beekeeping.

At Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists of Nashville, our aim is to provide unparalleled, competent yet compassionate otolaryngologic care to our patients regardless of race, ethnicity or religious beliefs. Patient involvement in the treatment plan is vital to the success of our interventions. We therefore place a strong emphasis on patient education. We believe that a knowledgeable patient is a compliant patient.

Our Vision

We endeavor to collaborate with the patients in the diagnosis and treatment of their ear, nose, and throat problems. In addition to employing traditional therapies for treatment of otolaryngologic disease, we assume a holistic approach to patient care where appropriate and requested by the patient.
